Welcome to Dream and Hustle!

 

The new Dream and Hustle is now open and ready for the new direction and the mission we are on – self-empowerment, economic development and raising the quality of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for brothas and sistas. I’m going to discuss all that is new and where I’m planning to go with all of this. Change is a good thing and there is no need to look back so let’s get into looking ahead.

Categories

First and foremost, I decided to create a more expansive set of categories so we can cover the totality of the hustle life. Going for yours and not only about business, it’s about having everything from living your life, chasing your dream, learning and growing as well as having fun and enjoyment.  All of  life and the little things come into play when it comes to entrepreneurship where you are in control, in charge and handling your business and that is why I’m going to focus on business, culture, living and entertainment as categories.

Wikis

Second, we are going to incorporate true collaboration among ourselves instead of just having someone write content for another person entertainment. One of the things I hated about blogging in the previous version of Dream and Hustle version was cats coming to my blog looking to be entertained as a consumer. What people of color, especially what African-Americans are going through during this rough economy is too critical to have cats entertained as a consumer.

We are introducing wikis to allow the community at large help build a repository for not only us to contribute and learn, but have something for our future generation of brothas and sistas have something to access without starting over. The biggest problem in the African-American community was knowledge was not being passed around, causing some in the African-American community to start acting elitist and supercilious.  The goal of the wikis to distribute information so our people have blueprints and steps to execute against.

Question and Answers

We can now ask questions pertaining to us and have us provide real and positive answers. The goal of the questions is to again create a repository of information we can use to help us become better and truly informed people who can act upon previous knowledge gathering and queries.

Gentler and Kinder Articles

For a limited period, the old Dream and Hustle will be hosted at http://archives.dreamandhustle.com but I will be transitioning the existing articles from the previous site to this site. I will be re-writing many of those articles to our new editorial format to be more informative. So expect a lot of re-writes of older articles brought up to date as well as new content which will mean more articles to read and reference.

Collaboration

We will be hosting call-in shows but these call-in shows will not be chaotic and random or someone trying to be funny. These call-in shows will be collaborative through mind-mapping technology and allow us to organize the discussion into a logical solution that we can all act upon. Dream and Hustle will operate in an iterative development fashion to uplift our people and our communities and will not sound like a broken record repeating the same rhetoric over and over. Once we capture points, we will proceed to act upon solutions and move forward.

Acknowledging Our Place in the Diaspora

As of today, Dream and Hustle will blog from a perspective of being a member of the greater African Disapora. With that said, this blog fully acknowledge the culture and contribution of our brothas and sistas who are putting work in Africa, our ex-pat family working and building up worldwide as well as our diverse communities around the world. The African-American community has to step up to the plate and contribute our knowledge and resources to our brothas and sistas around the world and Dream and Hustle is committed to this goal.

So when you see articles discussing what brothas and sistas are going through in Paris or London or someone started a new business in Tokyo or Hong Kong like they were someone living next door, that is how Dream and Hustle view our brothas and sistas which is no different than anybody else living next door. We are all family and anybody who read Dream and Hustle should know our deep connection and respect for brothas and sistas doing their thing worldwide.

Offline and Online Social Networking

Atlanta, USA is the official headquarters for the Dream and Hustle movement and will leverage the resources and people in this city to help develop the framework and platform for our mission and goals. We will host events here, sponsor and participate in events here as well as other offline interactions and these will be advertised in the event section.

Online, our Facebook page will be made to accommodate contributions and other information and establishing a way for us to network with each other. We will also be revamping and revitalizing the YouTube page with original productions as well do a better job with Twitter in keeping people in touch and up to date.

Welcome to the New Blog.

With that said, welcome to the new version of the blog and it has honestly taken me several months to plan this out and get it together. As you see, there is a lot of work that need to be done so you and I both will need to get busy. There is too much at stake right here and right now and the time has past for us brothas and sistas to start creating a true collaborative efforts to elevate ourselves and our community towards true self-empowerment.
