Find a Broke Job Overseas and Hustle Hard From There

First of all, hat tip to my brothas over in Tokyo keeping it 100% – some of yall don’t know its brothas and sistas all over this world, especially ex-military cats who settled overseas looking out for you. So the question was posted in Facebook somewhere about a cat that wants to move overseas and needed help on how to get started. He started talking about his credentials and one cat told him that he may have to crawl before he ball to get some kind of footing.

If you think about it, that’s how everybody had to come up from Tony Montana washing dishes to Niko Belic hanging out at his cousin taxi cab shop. We can go on and on from Quincy Jones to yall Tyler Perry who had to do menial crap before making their break. Even I had to do crappy menial jobs like wrap a stack of Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles VHS tapes onto pallets back in the days, which is why cats know I’m certified and not on some nonsense when it comes to the hustle.

But the truth and what it comes down to is what kind of person you are in terms of being a go-getter. If you a sorry, lazy ass, timid, procrastinating, self-doubting, no faith in you and your God then you might as well stop reading this article. But if you are the type that ain’t got ish to lose and everything to gain, know you can find opportunity in any situation you get put in, tired of the same ish, different day around you and got a clean record and drug free, then there are ways for you go get out there.

Basically, go over to USAjobs.gov and type in another country and press search. That’s all you have to do to get started looking at overseas opportunities. Now before I get started, let me explain something to the clueless and uninitiated who never been nowhere and ain’t done. First of all, brothas and sistas are already overseas working these jobs and anybody who serve in the military see civilians all the time and their families overseas doing these jobs. I told you from the top of this article, brothas from Tokyo mention this so they must came up the same path. You are going to be around brothas and sistas who can show your ass the ropes, you get that ish in your head first and foremost.

Another thing to keep in mind is you ain’t going to live there permanently; you just want some overseas experience to build up your exposure. Now, let’s not be naïve here as there are some factors that come into play. First of all, most of the jobs featured on USAJobs.gov give preferences to veterans who are disabled or served in armed conflict military operations and campaigns (translation:combat). But here is the thing – most veterans even when they come back home rarely take advantage of their GI Bill or these job opportunities. Second, you have to keep in mind some of these jobs may go to military wives or on-base people or whatever but even in those situations, most of them don’t want to work and live off the active duty cat money. So don’t be too discouraged and the worst you can do is just keep trying.

Let’s look at some jobs out there I’ve found. First of all, the only places I’m looking at are Japan, Italy, United Kingdom and South Korea. All of these places may have some stepping stone element to it. For example, while in South Korea, you talk too much to get the wholesale hookup and start exporting ish to Black hood retailers directly, same with Italy. Also these are places where you got brothas and sistas already established as ex-pats. But that just my opinion and remember this is just a suggestion.

Keep the following in mind:

Are you are disabled/combat veteran? If so, you can apply for any of these jobs. A lot of these jobs are designed for local people who may have a husband or mom or dad in the military or a civilian contractor already living in the area. What I don’t recommend is you save your money and fly over there. Remember your common sense – most jobs are usually already filled before they are publicly posted by inside connections. Most of the time, posting a job is just a formality when they already decided who they was going to hook up with the job. So that why I’m telling you don’t do anything based on what you read.

What you want to do is try your damnest to find connects who can help guide you in the application process and see if positions are open. Then once you know the position is truly open from a real person mouth, then you apply for the position. That’s with any job in this economy.

Now, I’m not speaking from experience because even though I’m a combat veteran with preferential treatment, I never applied or have a desire to work for the government. But if you got somebody around you who got back from Iraq or Afghanistan and talking about there ain’t no jobs, then be straight up with them and tell them to help setup the worldwide Diaspora for the rest of us and start looking at these overseas opportunities. See, once they get in the door even with a crappy job, they can open up way more connects for the rest of us.

So when you check out USAjobs.gov, just remember that you can search outside the USA to see what jobs they got.
