In the first installment of this article, I covered creating a $5/month geo-location database that you can host on Godaddy and provided the script. In this article, I will show you how we can create a REST/XML web service that should be simple to create to use the geo-location service. This REST/XML service is the core building block that allows you to connect to it from any device and create serious location-based hustles that brothas and sistas are sleeping hard on at this time.

Let me give you this headline about American Express and what they announced recently:

NEW YORK, May 14, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) — American Express today launched an industry first mobile offer engine that recommends and ranks relevant merchant offers in real time for US Cardmembers based on their spending history and location — a Cardmember’s “spend graph.”

This mobile experience is being piloted via the new “My Offers” feature on the American Express iPhone App ( http://aexp.co/QyW ) — which is the same convenient and secure environment where millions of Cardmembers currently manage their Card accounts. During the pilot, recommended local offers be will be concentrated in Los Angeles and New York City with an overlay of offers available nationwide at merchants like Baskin-Robbins(R) and Dunkin’ Donuts(R).

..

After Cardmembers download or update the American Express iPhone app, they can click to see “Offers Available for You.” The list of offers will be ranked based on relevance — taking into account the Cardmember’s spending history and current location. Cardmembers can also sort and discover offers based on location or expiration date. My Offers features a dashboard where Cardmembers can see what offers they have added to their card, how much they have saved, and what offers have expired — all in one convenient place. To redeem an offer, Cardmembers simply add it to an eligible American Express Card and then use their Card to make the qualifying purchase. Savings are automatically delivered via a statement credit generally within three to five days.

This is exactly what I’m showing you what to do here. I wonder how much American Express paid cats to create that mobile app for them? Now I’m wondering how much yall paying me to create this geolocation building block for you – oh yeah, yall can’t even leave a comment for the work I’m putting in. But this is exactly the kind of applications you brothas and sistas can start building.

Remember in the previous article covering the database, I had two geolocation functions. The first function was to see the distance between two latitude/longitude locations and the second function was to display the nearest stored location based on a provided latitude/longitude.

REST Calls

A rest call is basically an url that you pass through with values that you want the web server to take in and give you data back based on that passed in data. For example, in order to get the distance between two geographic points, you would pass in both lat/long values and in return, get back a numerical value representing the distance.

This is an example of a url address that you will be able to type into your web browser for a live example later. You see there is an action, lat1, long1, lat2, long2 being passed in with values. This gets the distance between the West Side of Chicago and Southwest Atlanta:

http://swagg-scientific.com/geolocation.aspx?action=getdistance&lat1=41.88114&long1=-87.72587&lat2=33.72805&long2=-84.40195

XML Response

When you enter the url, the web service instead of returning a web page, returns an XML data representation of the data you are looking for. The advantage of this is you just created a solution that now you can create a mobile app for Android, iOS and Windows as well as desktop applications because all of those devices can access a url and read the results. This is how you should be developing your web applications in the 21st century.

In the example below, I have the lat/long of both the West Side of Chicago and Southwest Atlanta in the Locations database table. This url calls the get nearest function and can list the nearest place based on the lat/long passed in. In this case, the West Side of Chicago will show up.

http://swagg-scientific.com/geolocation.aspx?action=getnearest&latitude=41.88114&longitude=-87.72587

Note: These are live working examples and if you want to change the latitude/longitude, use this web site to find your latitude/longitude and replace the values in the URL to test:

http://universimmedia.pagesperso-orange.fr/geo/loc.htm

More Secure Web Services

In these examples, they are not secure and you do not know who is accessing the link. There is a way to only allow the service be used by those you know by having some kind of cryptic code or key that only you and the customer knows and that is checked each time. In addition, if you want to encrypt this, you can use SSL to encrypt the message.

Real World Uses of this Simple $5/month Geolocation service.

I just showed you brothas and sistas how to create a geolocation service that you can now reuse and build yourself. Many of you cats are running around talking about you a geek and ish and I just showed you how they create their location-aware applications. I know it’s getting harder and harder for these fake Black tech cats to keep doubting this right here, but I hope they get over it soon on how hard Ed and the 30 Rotten Dissidents really are to the game.

Just with this simple service, you can now setup the location-based offers that American Express was bragging about. You put in a list of locations using the lat/long coordinates and the person smartphone will tell us where they at and we take that lat/long and just run against the find nearest REST/XML service above to show the list of the nearest places.

That means you can create special offers based on their location, which should reveal to you our core engine of creating the invisible pop-up store for the hood because the augmented reality browser will simply call this web service and determine what products/merchant to display based on what hood that person in. In addition, this is how you can create your worldwide airport hustle by knowing what airport the mobile user is in and you create information services based on that. See, now you got real hustles to go over on just $5/month.

Now, the find distance thing I hope you figured out. I can call that think once every second and can create a mobile application that let the user know how close they are. If we were running a concert or an event, we can show people the distance from that event and they can see themselves getting closer by constantly measuring their current lat/long against the destination, hence a GPS navigation device.

And don’t forget that we can combine both of the services to show the nearest hair salon and how far they are from that hair salon and put that application on Android and iOS. This is the type of services you brothas and sistas can now do but yall sleeping hard and not learning. To be honest, this crap was extremely simple to do yet it is a popular service that gets headlines when someone creates it.

Next Up: The Web Client

Using HTML 5, we will show you how to get the current lat/long of the user current location and once you got that location, you will see us create a full blown application that can show data on maps and distance and even how to provide offers based on that geo-location.

Now, let’s see if brothas and sistas are going to continue to just sit back and stay stagnant or make moves. I can assure you that my Asian/Indian brothas and sistas are reading and learning from Dream and Hustle but when it comes to Black people and my blog, brothas and sistas want to just read, and then reinforce their ego with designer bags and rims on their cars. Last I checked, the big auto show where they launched all these new luxury cars was in China, not America.

Okay, the next article on this topic, we will create the web application and see if it works on the same $5/month GoDaddy account.

I’m currently coding out the example for the web service of the Geo-location code as a Part 2 series. The thing is I got a few things I got to knock out at the same time like iron and fold my clothes, try to work out something with this fine Windward Parkway Indian sista (body like a sista! yeah!) who acting very spoiled and demanding, work on the ESB level of the retailing for the hood project and also work on the two wikis I just created.

I updated the links in the wikis to point to HustleSpace and HoodSpace and currently adding content in real time right now. Again, I’m asking brothas and sistas to help contribute and it look like someone already got started and helping me out. In addition, there are going to be more people helping out with HustleSpace and HoodSpace and this will blow up before you know it.

Just something real quick and this is a tired subject that sounds like a broken record. It is shameful when the Black community don’t want to try to acknowledge what me and my people doing here. I got people all over the world looking at me because I also work in other markets on emerging technology and discuss with them there as well as instruct and be instructed. They know about this blog and I get it from non-Black people of color all the time about why yall don’t provide any feedback or comments on Dream and Hustle.

You seriously want to believe this blog is not being looked at worldwide and by influencers when it was me who covered Tesco QR wall in detail and SK Telecom QR code in detailed and was referenced by mobile experts around the world on my opinion, when cats around the world are asking me about helping them setup NFC strategies and interactive strategies as well as startup information, but I got Black folks I’m blogging for free for acting like lurkers ain’t a good look for our people overall. Stop allowing your ego to think this is about me because I’m already doing it big outside of this blog, without your consent or approval.

The Geo-Location code I’m about to provide will be very powerful. Just the database alone, cats all over are trying to copy that because there is really no code out there like that. I can use that database and once I get this web service up and running – I will show you how to do this stuff in real-time geolocation features that we brothas and sistas have not developed before. I believe I got some haters mad because they thought I was joking about the virtual pop-up store thing and didn’t realize me and my crew already got that project on lock.

I have the code already developed but will spend the next day testing it out and plan to publish it soon. Just please be patient as we put in the kind of work it takes for us to use the latest technology and techniques so we can start building real things. Thanks.

Right now, cats are out there selling hair extensions and making money on the side. Granted, it is a nice side hustle for sistas smart enough to see a demand and position themselves to get paid. I got this little teenage sista out there who has her own hair extension hustle over the Internet and hopefully will advise her how to step her game up and straight boss on these other cats and take over the world.

But here is the thing -I didn’t realize Dream and Hustle the past two weeks been covering the components of this hustle. I basically broke down all of the major components of how to straight boss on the hair extension hustle the previous articles I written on Dream and Hustle. If cats took this blog seriously and actually took notes of the stuff I wrote in the past several weeks, they would have put two and two together. This article is going to show sistas how to start and operate their own hair extension hustle on a boss level.

Sourcing the Hair

I wrote an article (link) about brothas and sistas need to start international travel. In that article, I told you cats what many famous and rich cats told me where the number one destination Dream and Hustle should tell their audience to focus on and where to go. They told me this is the place brothas and sistas better start looking at. By the way, do you know what is considered the best type of hair extensions coming from?

The reason why Malaysian hair is considered the best is due to the diversity of the Malaysian people. Malaysian has Indian, Chinese, Arab and Indonesian melting pot culture and they have a large variety of hair that can be curled or straight or mimic many styles sistas strive for with harsh chemicals. Second, the Malaysian currency is cheaper (believe is also cheaper than Brazilian hair) which mean you get more for your money with the US Dollar.

This is where you sistas probably want to source your hair from and get with someone local there. How you get your local connect determines how successful you are. The only thing I will give you a quick hint is to do research and find out the wholesale market and find out where the real market in Kuala Lumpur at to exchange hair so you can go directly to the source to avoid markups.

What I strongly advise is to make sure you are getting quality product from the source and use multiple suppliers and form a relationship with them. Again, keep that ignorant ghetto style of doing business stuff here in America and stay humble when doing business in Asia and show them the same respect as they have admiration for us African-Americans. We brothas and sistas have clout on the global level and most of brothas and sistas are too ignorant and stuck on local stupid crap to realize our global powers.

Creating the Packaging

I wrote an article (link) about how sistas should be selling beauty to other women instead of being some magazine butt model or rap video vixen trying to impress some horny broke $40k/year bustards. I gave as an example two successful Japanese entrepreneurial models who sold fake lashes and had their picture all on the packaging. This is exactly what I want a sista to do – I want her to put her own face on the packaging and brand it under herself.

Everybody else just sell hair, you sista is going to sell your brand and your hair and market that package to the people as a distinct brand. Don’t listen to some cornball talking out the side of their neck saying it won’t work – those two sistas in Japan sold false eyelashes with their face all on the packaging and don’t you forget that example either.

The reason why these cornball side-haters telling you branding hair extensions don’t work is because they quietly hating on you as a person, trust me. They don’t want to see you promote you to the critical mass because they don’t want to see you big like that. I do want to see you do big and that’s why I’m telling you sistas to put your face on that package and brand it!

Look, if there is anything I want to teach you from Dream and Hustle is the number of fake Black people out there trying to put doubt on your hustle. I already showed you the proof in that other article how the Japanese sistas blew up fast and other examples such as Raven Symone and Gwen Stefani was provided so you have to go that route.

The plastic bags probably can be ordered here in America or overseas. Then what you probably want is to use some cardboard that you print in full color of your hair extension logo and description of your product. Put this in the packaging so it can be seen as your distinct product. However, I do not know if the packaging needs to be airtight and if so, I suggest this air-proof and tamper-proof packaging be your preference to protect your brand, not some button packaging where anybody can get into it during the supply chain process.

This is not just you selling hair, you are selling your brand so you can come up and move into bigger and better hustle down the road – that’s how you become a boss like that Dolly Wink sista in Japan.

Setting up the Web Operation

This is the problem I have with Black tech and web programmers me and the 30 Rotten Dissidents run into because they all are really a goddamn pathetic joke but they think they know how to code. When it comes to the web, cats should focus on the simple ish but Black folks claiming they know tech tend to overcomplicate how web design and web architecture should be. The web site should be simple enough with HTML 5 or even basic HTML and use as little links or buttons so it can be accessed on a tablet or mobile device.

Women, especially Black women use mobile phones and tablets, rarely desktop computers. I don’t even see a sista sitting down idle anymore because they staring into a mobile device all the time. Now, I do have this one weird sista who sit down and look at a DVD player and I’m going to have to talk to her about that one day but most sistas use a mobile device when they sit down for a break. Your web site should be compatible with those devices and that is a simple web site.

Select a hair extension type based on country, style or length or combination. Then show pictures of the weave and price and buttons to buy. Then send them an invoice via email or text message– f*ck a e-commerce shopping cart checkout screen – they pay and you fulfill the order. Keep that ish simple on the mobile device.

Now, I wrote an article (link) on how to do geolocation services where you can use a web service and here is how you can use it here. You can have hair stylists pay you to be listed on your web site and you put in their latitude/longitude coordinates and you can show your customers the nearest stylist near the map who can apply your branded hair extensions. That can be done in HTML 5 using the navigation.geolocation feature.

Marketing with QR Code Posters

Last year, I wrote about Tesco in South Korea creating a virtual wall with QR codes that allow people to shop for products with their mobile phone. (Note: the reason I’m showing Singapore in the video above is to show you how fast technology moving in the Pacific Rim while brothas and sistas like Black Web 2.0 stay here in America stagnant and too busy reinforcing their ego). I also talked about creating large format QR code posters allowing people in the hood in a waiting lobby area to scan and shop or place orders. One way to market the weave product is to create QR code posters that allow sistas to shop for their hair extensions and have it mail-ordered to them.

Where do these smart QR posters go? They can go into the ladies restroom at nightclubs or restaurants in the Black community. They can go on at the bus stop or train station. You can have a table setup at the club showing ladies how to order. These posters can be even setup in church. You can past these QR code ordering as postcards. When a lady in a sorority want you to sponsor their program book, put this ad with QR codes on two pages. Ladies can use their cell phone, order their hair from their mobile phone and it is sent directly to their home.

Summary

When Black people start taking someone from the West Side of Chicago and Dream and Hustle seriously and stop reinforcing their ego with BS like Black Enterprise magazine who are not writing anything special, then brothas and sistas will be able to put real global boss-level hustles based on the articles we write on this blog. Me and the 30 Rotten Dissidents don’t have to brag or claim we are the best, we already know that ish because we put in that real work to make us the best in this ish.

Yeah, it’s a lot of cats out there selling hair extensions but they doing it as a two-bit side hustle. You can straight brand the hair weave hustle the same way Ralph Lauren branded the polo t-shirt style to his own name. The same way with the Japanese sistas did with the false lashes and that one sista Keyshia Ka’oire did with her lipstick line.

You don’t think of peddling to cats around the block, you think big like we need you to. You source in Malaysia and ship out to Africa, ship out to the Caribbean, ship out to America and Canada and ship out to Paris, London and Belgium. You go worldwide with your brand and make worldwide money with your brand, sista and blow up your empire from there.

You then realize sistas use their mobile phones and tablets and can do QR code ordering with their hair through this technology. You build smart posters that let sistas worldwide order from their mobile phone. You promote those posters everywhere sistas congregate and is idle. And just in case you didn’t realize, the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport with millions of sistas coming in and out is the type of airport hub we also blog about where you may want to reach them there. You can build a geolocation service for a sista traveling in Atlanta to know the nearest place to get some extensions done and you ship your extensions out to their hotel in an emergency rush.

This is exactly how the young brothas and sistas need to start thinking instead of that get a degree and hopefully get a job type setting because that get a good job thing ain’t going too well right now. We got to learn how to use technology and use worldwide resources to position ourselves in the global economy and stack paper. Once brothas and sistas learn to disrupt their ego and go worldwide on the hustle, then we will be where we really need to be at in the 21st century doing for self and building our empire on our terms.

Subrealism published a powerful blog article that exposes the core problem in the Black community. The article is called “Ego-Disruptive = Non-Toxic / Ego-Reinforcing = Toxic” and that is the most basic formula that explains at the very core why the Black community is in the regressive state we are in.

The Black community is currently stagnant because Black folks are too focused on protecting and reinforcing their ego. I’ve seen it over and over again where Black folks don’t want to learn anything or realize they were wrong and instead, resort to their ego and just defend their ego while the problem in our communities still occur over and over. Until brothas and sistas understand what’s really going on with this ego crap, African-Americans will never be successful at any attempts to improve our situation and that is what this article is about.

We Black Folks Sure Do Have Some Egos!

Black people have some egos out of this world that is also masked by personal pride and a strong headed conviction about how things should be. When it comes to brothas and sistas there is no such thing as right and wrong in this world – it’s their ego versus opposition to their ego. When the pastor is accused of grinding on little boys in the church, it isn’t about the pastor being wrong – it is the church reputation and the ego of the people who attend that church still there supporting that pastor blindly. That is exactly how the Black community operates.

You cannot even teach or help a brotha or a sista if you see them swerving sideways because they will let their ego get in the way and tell you some tired “do you, I do me” bullsh*t which translated to “this isn’t about progress, this is about my ego” if you want to be real about it. Even if you are right, brothas and sistas will start focusing on deflection and straw man and stalking horse techniques to because it isn’t about the truth, it is about showing you all that their ego wins at the end of the day.

Why the Broke and the Boule in the Black Community have Egos?

The reason Black folks have egos because it is a scientific fact the poorest, oppressed and wannabees have egos because an ego is the one they have and can control. These cats cannot control much of the outside environment and usually is a victim of their socio-economic situation such as being poor, being a convicted felon, being a young single mother, and being a member of the Boule or whatever. So what the poor and oppressed cats can control is their ego and they will fight for and protect what they can control and make that ego more important than the truth itself.

This is why we have dumbass Black politicians getting busted doing stupid corrupt ish for chump change money like $5,000 or $7,000. These Black politicians are not thinking analytical, they are thinking about their ego. When the community strokes that politician ego and keep voting for them, then that Black politician believes in their ego more than common sense and the Federal District Attorney loves that ish because that’s how the DA get promoted up the ranks in the Department of Justice.

We can say the same about Black drug dealers and why they always seem to end up in SuperMax and ish. Because they watch Scarface and didn’t realize Tony Montana did everything based on his ego, not on the business. Same with the Boule and why they are losing any resemblance of elitism they actually thought they had because they were not about competitiveness, they were about promoting their ego to the Black critical mass through media like Ebony and Black Enterprise magazine.

Reinforcing an Ego Is the Most Terrible Thing a Black Person Does to their Mind

When the ego is reinforced, then what is happening is a person is trying to control how they believe the world should revolve around them. They also become psychopaths and focus more on their personality and they actually defend and shape and admire their own personality and how others should treat their personality/ego. The problem is, anybody who reinforcing their ego is not progressing – all they is doing is defending their ego and protecting it and finding excuses for their ego.

When people do drugs or drink, they do not become high as they claim but they actually start expressing their reinforced ego more outwardly. When some people do others wrong, they are only concerned about how their own ego is being treated. Even when you have Black folks out there opposing gay marriage, they don’t give a damn about the act of gay people having sex – it is the ego of these anti-gay clowns who don’t want to acknowledge other people in this world who don’t subscribe to their belief system that shapes their ego.

Whenever you hear something about Black on Black violence, you always hear some brotha or sista say something about “they disrespected me!” meaning someone attacked their ego. In addition, that is why the college Black frat parties always fighting because the Black frats are fighting for the ego of their organization. You interrupt the senior pastor preaching and you call out the picture of the White Jesus in the Black church, the church will resort to defending their ego, not any facts.

Reinforcing your ego is not how your brain supposed to work – in fact, it can be argued that having an ego or a strong opinion on something is actually a mental disease. Reinforcing an ego also encourage ignorance as your ego does not require you to be smart, just the ability to defend your ego. So with that said, ego reinforcement makes a person crazy and ignorant. And the Black community is full of crazy and ignorant people because we spend too much time reinforcing our egos.

Disrupting the Ego is the Most Terrific Thing a Black Person Does to their Mind

When you are disrupting the ego, you allow yourself to have an open mind to everything around you and try to understand. Disrupting the ego means you understand what you can control, what you cannot control and having the wisdom to know the difference. You allow yourself to learn new things, experience new things and your mind begin to define who you are and the world around you based on these experiences.

When you disrupt your ego, you are constantly telling your ego that it is a big world out there that you do not know everything about and it is always amazing. You can watch something on PBS about animals and will sit there amazed know realizing until now these animals have mating dances or know how to swarm in an intelligent vector array. You can climb aboard a U-2 and your pupils dilate as you view the edge of space and see how awesome the earth is from 70,000 feet above sea level. That is disrupting the ego.

Scientists, innovators, inventors, alchemists, engineers, artists, musicians are those that constantly disrupt their ego to bring something new and amazing for the rest of us to enjoy. The minute they start reinforcing their ego, they lose creativity and we see plenty of people do that and they become stagnant. The Ancient Egyptians were never about tradition – they constantly disrupted their own egos and believe in a higher power and were able to lay down the foundations of architecture, embalming, math and even the religious doctrine that been re-written over the centuries to something called Christianity that many Black folks worship.

When you or your child is truly based in STEM, that is the art of disrupting the ego to learn new and different patterns and practices. When Dream and Hustle goes worldwide to learn new techniques and patterns to empower our communities back home, we have to disrupt our egos and learn something new and this is how we keep creating new articles all the time for the past 7 years.

Disrupting the ego is a natural and powerful high that no drug can reproduce because your brain is the true trigger of dopamine, not the drug itself. When someone uses drugs, their high is based on an ego reinforcement of what they already know – same with dreams. But when someone learn something new, discover something new – that dopamine rush and high is nothing that can be duplicated by any synthetic chemical to the brain.

If you don’t want your kids to do drugs, get them into STEM and into discovering new and exciting things as their hobby for their rush. Knowledge is power and teach your kids how to harness knowledge and continue the quest to learn and disrupt their ego and let them know the world is too big to settle down and form an opinion and end up reinforcing an ego.

Remember when I told you I did group dating? Didn’t that disrupted the ego from what I expected a traditional dating to be like and that is why me and the others involved where excited? Did you know I had a date to watch “The Avengers” (which is why I didn’t update the blog the past few days) and this chick is going to sit at the other side of the seat leaning away from me like Ed Dunn is a leper that ran away from the leper colony? Then she gave me some punk ass hug and wouldn’t let me hold her hand? I straight dumped that crap and the good thing is, I have an ego that is constantly disrupted and always find something new and that allows me to move on to the next one without crying about having an reinforced ego that was attacked.

Know Where You At in the Game and Be Honest

If Black people and the Black community want to progress, we have to stop reinforcing our ego and start disrupting our ego. Talking about Black History, keep seeing the same Tyler Perry rehashed script, keep supporting that same mega-church bishop are all ego-reinforcing activities in the Black community. We need to become ego disruptive and learn STEM to innovate, learn entrepreneurship to find new ways to stack paper and build new structures and discover new things about us and the world around us to grow our horizons.

But we cannot do that until we accept where we are today and accept the reality of our situation. We have to accept the fact that college-degreed African-American jobs has been farmed and outsourced to other parts of the world to emerging markets. I’ve yet to see one Black media magazine acknowledge this fact as a front cover story of what’s going on with high unemployment in the Black community. The low-paying jobs are not being lost, it is the middle class Blacks losing jobs for the past 11 years.

We have to accept the Black church is an expensive membership social club setting that takes money in the form of “tithing” away from the local Black population and tell them some sermon to make them feel good but have zero social responsibility. We have to accept our Black politicians are not doing anything because the Black community is not forcing these local Black politicians to do anything. I can go on but most important, Black men and Black women have to accept that our ability to have relationships has been seriously fragmented through media propaganda.

Once we know where we at, then we have to start disrupting our ego that reinforces all of the status quo problems in our Black community. We take a STEM approach to Black community problems and create STEM-based solutions and execute against the science, not opinions and beliefs.

Everything Starts With Destroying the Negro Ego

I remember whenever I talk about Cathy Hughes or Tyler Perry, some cats and even a so-called hustle blogger come out trying to defend these personalities and ignore the actual actions of these people. That is the ongoing cycle of how defending the ego prevails itself in the Black community. Recently, I blogged about a two-bit attention seeking character thinking they some tech entrepreneur with some cornball shopping application and their response was predictable. They resorted to defending their ego, they had some clowns come around trying to defend the cat ego and that is the same tired script that we go through in the Black community.

However, you tell anybody else in this world or even me something I done wasn’t sh*t, I’m listening to that, validating if it is true and if it is true, I’m going to appreciate my ego being disrupted because what will happen next is I will improve and get better. That’s why these cats don’t talk about someone like me of my caliber because they know I will do nothing but get better from that. It is shameful in the Black community all of us is defending egos instead of doing the right thing and that’s the reason we ain’t making moves.

Slaves were the ones who had their egos reinforced as a slave and that was the identity their oppressors wanted them to have. When brothas and sistas resort to their ego when confronted, that is the result of slave programming carried on from generation to generation that we did not break away from. But we as African-Americans never addressed this topic. You do not know God, do not know this world and most important, you do not know yourself if you have an constant reinforcing ego.

When you allow you ego to be disrupted, that means you fully understand you are not in control of everything and this world is bigger than you and God is bigger than you. But you also understand you can constantly learn what’s beautiful in this world and this life you got as your ego is disrupted with something new and exciting each day you live your life. That is a beautiful and free life when you have an ego that is constantly disrupted, letting you know how awesome the world is.

Only broke, busted, boule and weak-minded Black folks walk around and reinforce their ego with their limited knowledge of the way things are and want to keep it that way. On the other hand, cats who allow their ego to be disrupted by the true awesomeness of God and this world and their own journey in this life are the true free and happy people. If we Black folks want to progress and be free, we got to disrupt our egos.

In order to build next generation global business models using technology, brothas and sistas should first learn how to build the basic framework services. Once we focus on frameworks, then we can create real business models on top of them and make real moves. One of the technology blocks brothas and sistas will need for their hustle is location-aware functions. This article is going to show cats how to create a location-based web service they can reuse for all of their hustles to quickly build a variety of next generation applications.

Potential of Geo-Location Services

For August 2012, we will be launching an invisible pop-up store campaign for the hoods across the USA in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. unfinished fight for economic empowerment in our communities, among our people. I wrote several articles on exactly how we plan to implement the technology and we still have several ways to do it. However, the core technology will know where the user is located and then we can create offers from the location community based on their location.

Also, I had written an article discussing opportunities at airport hubs as the new economic opportunity. I noticed only one sista was smart enough to realize the opportunity. Let me explain something to the rest of these cats our there just in case they are too stupid to understand airports. The Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport sees more upscale, high-income, educated Black customers ready to shop and buy in a given month than your whole damn city will see in a year. The use of mobile smart phones, 4G wireless speeds, idle travelers with extra money on them to spend – cats better get their head out of their butts and jump on it before someone else do.

With airport hubs, we can figure out what airport the user is currently at and use that location to offer them localized services. Cats who are doing layover flights, you can market their ass to shop locally while they sit there idle and that’s the opportunity you missing. This is why you need to make sure you have geo-location services at your disposal to create these types of services.

There are plenty of more services you can probably think of such as a proximately application that shows Black folks the nearest Black hair salon and you charge hair salons for the referral service. So all of the potential is there creating location aware stuff but there is one slight problem. The problem is and what I discovered there is no real web services out there that does exactly the type of stuff we need to do.

What needs to be done is we need to store all of our pre-defined locations such as all of the hoods or airport hubs in the USA and eventually worldwide. Then we need to capture the location of the mobile user and then we have to find if the user is actually near one of our spots. If they are near our spot, then we can offer the mobile user deals.

The Location Database

I spoke over and over that brothas and sistas are going to have to learn how to use databases. If you guys are not going to learn how to use data, then you will not make it as you will be subject to data manipulation for the rest of your lives. You got to learn databases, I don’t care what you do for a living or think about technology – this is a requirement in the 21st century.

I created the database already for you in SQL Server 2008 and you should be able to run these scripts I will provide to setup your database for to create the locations. You can download SQL Server Express 2008 from Microsoft Web Site and as I stated, I’m using a GoDaddy $5/month Windows hosting account and is works nice and highly scalable.

I do not have a version for MySQL because it does not the kind of geospatial functionality as SQL Server. And like I said, $5USD/month for a reusable web service should not have too many complainers when you are ground-floor hustling. So once you got SQL Server 2008 setup, run the Management Console and create a new database called “GeoSpatial” which you should learn by looking at instructions.

Now, in SQL Management Console, press the “New Query” button and in the new screen that shows up, this is the following script you want to run to create the table to store locations.

/****** Object:  Table [dbo].[Locations]    Script Date: 05/08/2012 21:27:04 ******/
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Locations](
[id] [uniqueidentifier] NULL,
[location_name] [nvarchar](500) NULL,
[location_description] [nvarchar](500) NULL,
[latitude] [float] NULL,
[longitude] [float] NULL,
[geolocation] [geography] NULL
) ON [PRIMARY]
GO
/****** Object:  Default [DF_Location_id]    Script Date: 05/08/2012 21:27:04 ******/
ALTER TABLE [dbo].[Locations] ADD CONSTRAINT [DF_Location_id] DEFAULT (newsequentialid()) FOR [id]
GO

This table script creates a database table that allow you to store locations that you are going to cover. Let’s talk about each column:

Id – this is a unique field that is called a primary key. This will be used when we add more tables to reference this table. For example, in the invisible pop-up store project, we will create a table called city and street intersections for people without smartphones to simply type in their city and streets or select on that links back to this table by the id field.

Location_name. This is the name of the location and you can name it everything from J’s Salon to Madison and Pulaski in Chicago to ATL airport and this is just the name you are going to create for your location.

Location_description. This is just a description so you can know the location or an extra column to display when you show the user their location and description.

Latitude and Longitude. These are “float” values that use decimal values such as 48.858454 and 2.294694 which is the respectively latitude and longitude of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.

Geolocation. Do not worry about this field, I created a procedure to populate this once you add latitude and longitude.

So what you do is you insert the location name, the location description and the latitude and longitude of your locations by using Google Maps or Bing Maps which have a feature that display this data. This is how you gather your locations. In addition, many airports would have their own GPS on web sites because aircrafts use these coordinates to navigate.

Now the next script has to be run and is very important because these are your functions. Once you run these scripts you basically setup a $5/month geo-location database that will be the basis of all of your next generation hustles.

USE [GeoSpatial]
GO
/****** Object:  StoredProcedure [dbo].[geolocation_get_distance]    Script Date: 05/08/2012 22:02:26 ******/
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
create procedure [dbo].[geolocation_get_distance]
@latitude1 float,
@longitude1 float,
@latitude2 float,
@longitude2 float
as
declare @geolocation1 geography = geography::Point(@latitude1,@longitude1,4326),
@geolocation2 geography = geography::Point(@latitude2,@longitude2,4326)
select @geolocation1.STDistance(@geolocation2)
GO
/****** Object:  StoredProcedure [dbo].[geolocation_refresh_geography]    Script Date: 05/08/2012 22:02:26 ******/
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
create procedure [dbo].[geolocation_refresh_geography]
as
update locations
SET geolocation = geography::STPointFromText('POINT(' + CAST([Longitude] AS VARCHAR(20)) + ' ' + CAST([Latitude] AS VARCHAR(20)) + ')', 4326)
where geolocation is null
GO
/****** Object:  StoredProcedure [dbo].[geolocation_get_nearest]    Script Date: 05/08/2012 22:02:26 ******/
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
create procedure [dbo].[geolocation_get_nearest]
@latitude float,
@longitude float
as
declare @userlocation geography = geography::Point(@latitude,@longitude,4326)
select location_name,location_description,latitude,longitude
from locations
where locations.geolocation.STDistance(@userlocation) <=1000
order by locations.geolocation.STDistance(@userlocation)
GO

The script above has some very powerful functions so let’s go over each one and how to use them. And yeah, I wrote these scripts and this is probably the same code I will be personally using to drive the invisible pop-up store for the hood project.

geolocation_refresh_geography. This stored procedure is what you run once you enter the latitude and longitude and it will convert into a geography data for the geolocation field. We will be using the geolocation field to perform geo-location calculation. So run this after you

geolocation_get_distance. This is just a calculation to get the distance between two points. This is be used for showing how far someone is from a location and if they are getting closer, that is the plan I have for it.

geolocation_get_nearest. This is the real geo-location service I need out of all of them. This is the service that takes the user current latitude and longitude and do a search to find the nearest location listed in our database. I also filtered their location to a certain distance so it only display something if they are in reasonable range. This is the code that helps us determine if the mobile user is in the hood or at the airport that we have listed in our database.

Summary

This is just part one because I know this is a lot of data. We will talk about how to get the location from the user in a follow-up article. So once you able to create this database table, the next step is to create a web service where you can send a REST message and receive the geo-location information back in XML format. You can use the same $5/month web site hosting account to create the web site that returns the XML message.

As you see, this is the kind of stuff brothas and sistas should try to establish as their basic blocks to their framework to creating next generation hustles. Once you learn how to build these kind of basic blocks then you will be able to build real stuff that will take you places.

We decided to create two new wikis at Wikia to support our wiki efforts to create a collaborative information repository covering entrepreneurship and economic development among us, for us and by us. The first wiki is called HustleSpace and will cover business models for entrepreneurs to read and contribute their own experience. The second wiki is called HoodSpace and will cover our communities and business models that exist or could exist, based on patterns we discover as we contribute information.

The two wiki web site addresses are:

HustleSpace Wiki – http://hustlespace.wikia.com

HoodSpace Wiki – http://hoodspace.wikia.com

Please bookmark these wikis and most important, sign up and register to start contributing content and help get this wikis off the ground. These wikis were originally going to be here at Dream and Hustle but I was not happy with the way you guys could not just register and contribute content. In addition, I wanted to make the wikis a separate entity from Dream and Hustle so these wikis can have a life on its own and fulfill its own purpose of educating and informing others about doing for self and how to do it and build global operations and empires.

These wikis are going to need your help and I truly believe many of you will find contributing to these wikis extremely fun and rewarding. What I need you guys to do is first register at Wikia so you can start contributing to the wiki. The second thing I need yall to do is basically read the next paragraphs so you can understand exactly what we are trying to achieve.

The HustleSpace Wiki

This wiki will cover all of the business models that we discussed on this blog as well as business models that are already in existence in our communities and elsewhere around the world. The goal is to create business model blocks for brothas and sistas to have access to help them decide what kind of business operation they want to pursue to stack their money up, build power and create an empire they can create a legacy for their family and others for generations to come.

I will be moving all of the business models from the existing wiki that we had here at Dream and Hustle over to the new wiki at Wikia. The one thing you guys can do is basically just contribute so we can get some direction going. Do not be afraid to write content, even if it sounds right because someone will come after what you wrote and clean it up and that’s what we want at the end of the day. We want good solid information that we all cross-checked so we can be confident we got information that is real and valid to work against.

If you have a business model idea or see a business model that is interesting, feel free to add it to the HustleSpace wiki and we will work on it. The key thing I want to do is break the business model down to the most detail possible. That means I want to document exactly what a brotha or sista need to do from day one, when they get off work or got some idle time at work behind the computer when they want to side hustle. So don’t worry about your content, any content you contribute is good content because we all will grow from there.

I will definitely be working the technology angle for some of the business models and provide resource links and break it down to step-by-step details. I also have other experts and other contributors who work in their industry provide content for us to learn from also. So this is definitely something in the making and we need everybody involved in getting the HustleSpace Wiki up and going.

The HoodSpace Wiki

The HoodSpace Wiki is a lot of fun and most important, this is going to be the first real attempt by Black people period at creating a national, global attempt at economic empowerment aimed at our communities. We are going to use mapping services like Google Maps or Bing Maps and explore our hoods like Brooklyn, Detroit, Baltimore, Houston, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Atlanta and document business models in our communities and discover new data.

What we will discover is we may find a successful pet boutique in Miami where Black folks in the Black community go and get their poodle trimmed and buy pet accessories and chat with other dog owners. Well, that is something we can discover in Miami and some entrepreneur in Dallas or Tacoma or Minneapolis can setup in their hood and discover this information from HoodSpace, thanks to you brothas and sistas documenting our hoods for all of us to learn from.

Also, I will be running an algorithm in the background where I can determine what type of business that could work in certain communities. For example, I can look at a list of business recorded in Jacksonville, Florida and realize that they missing a year-round food truck park in the hood and that will be a recommended business model for someone down there to think about pursuing.

Many of you guys will find this very fun, especially with Google Maps. You can use Google Maps to check out places like South London, Newark and even places like Toronto and see stuff you never seen before and realize what is possible as business opportunities we can setup. Keep in mind that when it comes to our hoods, we have to think clusters – it will take more than one Black-owned business that was featured in Black Enterprise magazine to bring a Black community back to economic stability.

We are going to have to understand that our hoods need a diversity mix of businesses such as professional services, retailers, entertainment and dining option to create vibrant commercial sectors. So that will be the goal and why I believe many of you will find researching and creating content for HoodSpace rewarding and fulfilling.

Let’s Plant These Wikis and Watch It Grow for Our Younger Generation

For too long and generation after generation, we brothas and sistas were not passing down information to our kids to help them uplift themselves and our people. Sadly, we had generations of brothas and sistas who created elitist cliques and thought only about themselves with no regard to our people future and our community has suffered as a result.

Today, let’s be the generation of brothas and sistas that give back and provide information not only for ourselves but for our future generation to also have at their disposal when they come up. No one is going to help our younger generation or give a damn about them – me and you got to do this for them because we are the ones who truly love the younger generation coming up behind us. Let that be justification enough for you to realize the important of us creating information repositories so others can learn from, execute against and succeed.

Online dating has pretty much been a mono e mono event where one person would meet someone and hopefully they may find each other attractive or enjoy their company. The problem with participating in singles dating operations is too much personal risk is involved. There have been a pop-up of alternative dating arrangements such as team dating and group dating and we are going to explore if this is something that can work in the African-American community.

Online Dating Is Too Risky and Uncomfortable

When I did online dating back in the 90s, it wasn’t so bad because only a few people where on the Internet and you usually met fellow netizens. But nowadays, I’m scare to death to meet anybody online. Back in the days, I remember all the episodes of sistas saying they thick in the right places when they really meant they are thick in all places. I remember sistas showing up and having a flat booty and I specifically would write in my personals ad “NO FLAT BOOTY CHICKS!” in all caps and they still answer my ad.

But with all this Craigslists and early release serial killers, deadbeats, down-low brothas and married or separated or bipolar women pretending they single all on the Internet trying to date, I cannot imagine any brotha or sistas seriously setting themselves up or making arrangement to have a chance encounter with what’s on the Internet today.

By the way, I have to interrupt this article with something I heard the week before last. Some brotha was running around talking about he started dating this sista and she did a Google search on him. The first image that showed up under his name was a mugshot photo. She asked him about it and he told her he only got arrested for a traffic violation (not true, probably didn’t show up to court). So he told me he went to the web site that hosted his mugshot and they wanted $70 from him to remove it from their web site. He actually paid them and I thought that was a pretty scummy but highly effective business model that use public domain mugshot pics and SEO them and blackmail cats to pay to remove it.

So back to what I was saying, I don’t think I or anybody else want to be doing any singles dating sites in 2012 with all of the danger out there. I do not want to be sitting across from some sista who keep busting out in songs and I know yall sistas don’t want to sit across from some guy looking nervous hoping you sistas don’t check his name against a public records web site. (Note: In ATL, these sistas got a secret underground database of dude names they share among each other.) With that said, I do not believe that a singles dating web site model is a viable option anymore.

New Dating Models – Group Dating.

I’ve seen over the years several web sites models promoting a feature called team dating. Here is a YouTube featuring an old-school Tracye Hutchins and Elle Duncan on it.

As you see in the video, everybody had nothing but positive things to say about it. No one felt pressured in a one-on-one situation and they said they felt safer. So overall, we see that team dating creates an atmosphere where you don’t have to be pressured when meeting someone for the first time online.

I also remember seeing two types of group dating setups. The first setup was where the whole female side was all friends and the whole guy side was all friends. I really would not like this setup because that is a very high chance of cat fighting and bro-blocking. What I think works is people have similar interests and hobbies.

My Experience with Group Dating

A few weeks ago, I did a group dating event and this was an experiment that someone is working on to create this type of site in the African-American community. I told her that I wanted to date stripper/model type sistas and hang with brothas who like those kind of sistas. We met at an upscale boutique hotel lobby here in the Atlanta area and it was us three brothas who like sistas with stripper bodies and it was three sistas who were all stacked hard!

I didn’t know these guys but they were like the best friends I ever had as we were gawking these sistas when we saw them come in like little kids at the ice cream truck! I was around brothas who like the kind of chicks I like and we ain’t ashamed to be about that either. And the sistas were all interested in us and it was a perfect ATL setup where we are all pretentious and shallow and had the best dating night of my life!

We didn’t even know each other and started talking about Black male/female relationships, food, places we been and where people would like to travel to, they got friends and other places we can hang out and all of us brothas said “bowling!”, hahaha! Man, f*ck that one-on-one first time dating ish! This was the goddamn ish right here and I wished I dated like this back when I was younger instead of trying to holler and get the attention of one sista.

Here is the thing – I liked all three of the sistas and didn’t have to be all on one of them that night. The brothas and the sistas both said they had a very good time and we all had a positive outing and we didn’t even know each other. Not only I met new people, but I met people that my shallow behind like to see and that really made me felt really good about being there. It was like those cruise ships where they put all the singles people at the table but you specify what kind of sexy you want to see and they deliver that for you.

To be honest – I had more fun with those guys being with me than 100% of my male friends all my life. In the past, I hung out with dudes who tried to block me or try to downplay some sista I was hollering at. Being around brothas who like sistas like I like em and we can relate and be on that same wavelength was really good. I need to stop talking because it is obvious how I felt about group dating.

Can This Be Done in the African-American Community?

I think this type of group dating site can only occur in emerging African-American communities filled with people who moved to the city and they don’t know each other. I do not think this model with work in Black communities where everybody know each other cousin, baby daddy, baby mother, stepfather, who they went to high school with and so on.

Places I think this group dating model will work are suburban places where Black folks who relocated to be near their jobs. These places are the Virginia, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Houston, Miami, Raleigh and other areas Black folks are moving to. I do not think it will work in family generational areas like Chicago, Detroit or in Brooklyn. I think it can work near college towns and in some cases, near military installations.

One of the key things I think can make this model really work is having a person who can match up the people to exactly what they are looking for. If there are some fine sistas with silicone breast/butt injections that want to meet some handsome brothas that work out at the gym, then that “matcher” need to be real and give the people in that group what they want.

The key thing in matching is having brothas and sistas be seriously honest about what they want and they can agree to hang out or meet up together. Then the matcher has a profiling system to pick out the ladies or the guys and make the arrangement.

I wonder if this is how the swinger clubs operate where cats are basically expressing that the other guy women is someone they like and that other guy is looking at his woman and saying he like that but they both agree on the type of woman. Maybe this group dating is a play on that model but is designed for single brothas and sistas and if that is the case, I would say the group dating model beats the swinger model hands down because it is more about common seekers than about swapping something personal like a spouse to someone else.

Summary

I really enjoyed the group dating and the sista who is setting up this operation here in Atlanta I cannot wait for her to get it up. I really appreciate the fact she was able to match up some sistas with big round juicy booties in jeans and spandex because we real brothas like that ish and tired of being ashamed of saying it. I felt those sistas had the same thing where they didn’t felt like they were competing and knew all of them were around 100% brothas who like all of them but I can’t speak directly for them but I got their numbers and we all going to hang out again, possibly bowling..haha.

So Angela Benton and her NewMe characters was getting their affirmative action media press on with these tech bloggers like TechCrunch, Scobelizer and ReadWriteWeb. They were even featured on Black in America 2 but I don’t have cable TV in case yall forgot so I haven’t seen it. But I do remember hearing Angela Benton on NPR and she sounded exactly like someone who knows little but presents herself a lot. But the thing we going to talk about today is this one product call AisleFinder that supposed to come out of their camp.

Now Angela Benton and that Black Web 2.0 nonsense had been around for a few years. You kinda know what cats are about when they been around for a few years. For example, you still got a wannabee hustle blogger blogging since the last decade still talking about “chauncey men” in 2012 and any real brotha has to raise eyebrows at that weirdness. And in 2012, you still got Angela Benton and her Black Web 2.0 and NewMe still seeking validation and acceptance from industry bigots.

I really do know and really don’t know where Angela Benton and the rest of those NewMe characters are coming from. I mean, they suck at programming and software development and they really are pathetic and I can say that and they can’t say sh*t about what I said because they do suck. But they craving for all of this attention as some kind of disaffected minority in this tech industry. They trying to go about the tech industry racism by trying to be liked and chosen by the tech bigots so they can say they arrived.

Overall, I believe these NewMe/Black Web 2.0 characters come from the affirmative action/entitlement camp these bigots like to refer to that I didn’t believe existed. I’m from the hood and ain’t nobody gave my Black ass a damn thing and I had to hustle and my family had to hustle to put food on our table. I did not believe there were Black folks who actually thought a bigot was actually going to give them something because of affirmative action laws! So this whole Angela Benton and Black Web 2.0 and NewMe shocked me to believe there are Black people who actually believe in a system of seeking validation and acceptance from others to get themselves ahead.

Here is the part because I want to pimp slap real hard out of this stupid angle Angela Benton and the rest of these sorry but “popular” technology Black faces been trying to push for years. I know many of you brothas and sistas understand but these cats are extremely confused and I don’t understand why they keep asking for validation and acceptance instead of going for theirs even as they stand there suck and kinda stagnant with their silly one trick ponies.

I just want Angela Benton and the rest of these NewMe characters understand there is a big gigantic emerging GDP country out there called India that has software programmers and engineers. I just want them to know in the real world, everybody is chasing after them and understand the reason why:

SUWON, South Korea—Samsung Electronics Co. has long shunned outside help in favor of developing devices on its own.

But as the smartphone market rapidly shifts its emphasis from hardware to software, the Korean manufacturer is realizing it must change its insular corporate culture.

Samsung has begun aggressively hiring foreign software engineers, especially in India, to build up its software prowess and keep pace with the rapid rise of rival Apple Inc. and its popular iPhone.

These Indian developers are not the same bunch from the last decade; they are actually leaders in this technology game right now. They have aggregated talent and they are cheap and they commoditizing the game and this is who the modern world is chasing right now in 2012. The current technology leaders are at more competition with each other than ever before and can give two sh*ts about your NewMe behind because you get a lot of “press” and visibility out there. So understanding what’s real in the global landscape of tech talent, NewMe is a goddamn joke and trying to only look popular instead of actually have something to bring to the table.

Speaking of bringing food to the table, I ran across this AisleFinder thing doing my research on the retail industry several months ago and didn’t care about it too much. However, I want to show you cats exactly how these NewMe Black Web 2.0 cats think and how these technology bigots use these clowns to try to claim they are not racist towards Blacks in the technology industry and press coverage.

Check out, well I don’t need you to waste your time like that but just check out the first few minutes of this video by Robert Scoble, a punk ass bigot his mother (she probably like Black men) should be ashamed of her son in this technology industry:

Robert Scoble puts this absolute embarrassing clown on this video but Robert Scoble bigot ass has never featured a real African-American tech talent and only show tokens like this who got no tech talent or industry experience worth talking about. Oh, sorry for not mentioning this before but this is Curtiss Pope, the CEO of AisleFinder and the guy featured in the video appearing extremely clueless like he been hanging around Angela Benton at Black Web 2.0..oh, I forgot.

As he described in the video about AisleFinder, this is a mobile application that allows shoppers to find items in the store easy and fast. They compile a list of stores and where the items are located in the store. The goal is to help people find products fast and where they located and they want to be featured on Food Network and stuff. But we’ll talk about this stupid dumbass AisleFinder business model and workflow later. What I really want cats to see is the footer section:

Do you notice they crave for media attention and being mentioned in the media? So this footer is the biggest giveaway about Angela Benton, Black Web 2.0 and NewMe and the rest of these characters. If this was a customer-centric web site, then real-world grocery shopping customer or their target demographic could care less about these “technology web sites” being referenced and customers just want to know how to use the application for their benefit. The fact these technology links are in their footer is proof-positive, these Black Web 2.0 and NewMe characters are seeking validation and acceptance from the technology industry, not provide a service to real-world customers.

Okay, about AisleFinder business model, there is nothing to talk about because it’s f*cking stupid. If I want to find something, I’ll ask the people working in the store that stock and arrange the stuff in their own store where it is at. Why would I be walking around a store holding a mobile device in my hand to see what aisle the eggs are at? I bet this dude was actually serious that someone would take this bullsh*t serious and he is right, the tech bigots like Techcrunch and Robert Scoble takes him serious because they always promote sorry ass brothas and sistas like this while trying to suppress real Black talent in this industry.

The second reason why this is stupid is because I realize if he actually done an ounce of research, he would have known every retailer has planograms and data already and can provide this information. Retailers already know their layouts and their layouts have to change for business reasons and that data is already there that AisleFinder is claiming to build up. I already knew he was not sourcing this data from the retailers the first few seconds of Mr. Pope running his mouth. I already figured out this bright character was having cats physically recording and reporting from a mobile the location of stuff in a store in a old-fashion screen scraping method.

So there is nothing to talk about except this topic anymore except to point out the current pathetic state of these fake ass Black tech entrepreneurs trying to make a mockery of real brothas and real sistas with tech talent trying to get their products out. Angela Benton and the rest of the Black Web 2.0 clowns who hang around her are nothing but attention seeking hoes to the game trying to make themselves the victims when they got nothing to offer. And the bigots in the tech media love these mediocre clowns and parade them all around because they want to try to demonstrate why these VC companies don’t invest in Blacks because these Black people don’t know how pathetic they are.

But don’t worry, Dream and Hustle will continue to bring real technology to brothas and sistas so we can use technology to help us in our solutions to create economic empowerment so we can do for self, our people, our community and our future. I have no need to seek validation and acceptance from these tech bigots when I’m working directly with cats all over the world and is one of the top cats in this game. I don’t need to stick my chest out – cats are too damn scared to mention my name because that may want to make you look at my resume and they don’t want you to see that, haha.

But the good thing is, I’m from the West Side of Chicago and currently in Atlanta and know my people and my community and this blog is a testament of that. I don’t seek validation from these punk coward bigots in the technology industry; I work worldwide with global resources to help create solutions we brothas and sistas can apply for ourselves and our own progress. How I get down in this game is how real Black technology brotha or sista should be about if they want to claim that title description and these characters don’t fit that definition.

All I got to say is coming from the Chicago Housing Authority and the West Side of Chicago, I didn’t realize we actually had Black people out there that believed in affirmative action and seeking validation and acceptance from those who don’t like us. All this history of Black entrepreneurs busting their ass for the past 150 years and putting in hard work and you got in 2012, Angela Benton and Black Web 2.0 and NewMe licking bigots booty instead of putting in work like our predecessors – go figure.

We will talk about this sista named Keyshia in the picture above later in this article. But I want to let you cats know upfront about this sista named Keyshia – she is the smart one that other sistas could learn a lot from. I will start by saying the overall majority of sexy African-American sistas are making a dead-end stupid move in their hustle by going about the game as a butt model instead of a diva. This article is going to go to Japan to give two examples of a diva career and come back to this Keyshia sista to help sistas understand how to really be about it.

Japanese Case Study: Milky Bunny and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu

I was doing some research on two Gyaru icons in Japan which is Milky Bunny and Kyary Paymu Paymu and found something interesting about both of them. Basically, both of them made some extremely smart moves from the beginning and blew up fast. But the way they blew up is what made me write this article because I realize sistas can learn a lot on how they did it and apply the formula to their hustle.

Milky Bunny

Tsubasa Masuwaka started off as a model for a teen fashion magazine and became very popular. But instead of just being a pretty face, she launched a fashion line for young women called Candy Doll and Dolly Wink selling make-up and false eyelashes converting her audience into customers of her products.

Notice how you see her face and wearing her products in all of her packaging. This probably did nothing but made her more of a branded face and a household name among teenage girls. Now as a household name and a brand in herself, she is now in the big leagues and doing commercials and appearances.

In these next set of videos, notice how she is doing photoshoots for her products and appearing in her own commercial for her own products:

Now Tsubasa Masuwaka, now a music artist known as Milky Bunny is a successful entrepreneur who started as a model an a fashion icon with her products selling all over Asia and even here in the USA. So by being a model, she actually started marketing a product for her audience under her own identity and the rest is history.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu

Many of you see Kyary Pamyu Pamyu a lot on Dream and Hustle lately and the reason why is Kiriko Takemura is certified and my kind of girl. Not only because Kiriko is a piece of work but she put in real work to get where she is at. Here is the Wikipedia entry for Kiriko:

Kyary started as a fashion blogger, and then began her professional career as a model for Harajuku fashion magazines such as Kera! and Zipper. After achieving a measure of fame, she began to establish herself as a businesswoman by launching a line of fake eyelashes called “Harajuku Doll Eyelashes by Eyemazing x Kyary” and appearing at fashion shows.

I believe Kiriko was blogging back in 2008 if I’m correct and from blogging, she started modeling. Now, after she got her fame, she did the same move as Tsubasa Masuwaka in our first example and release a line of fake lashes. It wasn’t until 2010 that like Tsubasa Masuwaka, she began her music career. So she is another entrepreneur and even started out as a blogger in this game and moved her way up to also being featured in commercials:

What’s the Takeaway?

What is the one thing you took away from these two ladies in terms of how they were able to propel their career to pop icon status? Because how both of these Japanese sistas blew up is so obvious but it appears the African-American butt models cannot figure it out. Bria Myles didn’t figure it out, Mizz DR didn’t figure it out, Buffie the Body was close but missed it and even Ms. Koi missed the boat altogether. If you are a sista reading this, I hope you realize not only the biggest mistake these sexy African American sistas are doing, but you don’t repeat their mistakes.

The way these Japanese sistas that I talked about was able to blow up so fast is because they marketed to women, not men. That is the biggest and dumbest mistake these models from Bria Myles to Ms. Koi made, marketing themselves do a bunch of horny broke ass dudes who ain’t going to pay for anything. Many of these sistas try to run some subscription paid web site for brothas that feature photos of them posing with their butt sticking out and failed because all brothas did was copy/paste those photos among message boards.

Mizz DR could have sold a line of glasses for sistas to wear, Buffie the Body and Ms. Koi could have made fitness DVDs like Donna Richardson did and got paid, Bria Myles should have focused on both false lashes and a clothing line for thick sistas and I could go on with all of the missed opportunities these butt models failed hard not marketing to women to elevate their career and blow up fast.

The Japanese sistas above targeted women and marketed their beauty to women. They sold products under their identity such as the false eyelashes to women and they became successful among women. Women are the ones who got money and here is the part the African-American butt models failed to realize – it is Black women who would have been a paying customer if these butt models marketed themselves to Black women.

Going back to Japan again, did you realize that these sistas were models in female fashion magazines about women in terms of fashion and sexiness? Do you realize Black women in America really do not have this kind of self-beauty magazine? I’m not talking about that Essence or Hype Hair stuff, I’m talking about real magazine for real everyday Black women that show and specializing in everything from how to wear makeup and look sleazy in a body suit that is among sistas to read. These magazines have nothing to do with men and if these butt models had a clue, that is where they should have targeted their efforts, not these BS magazines like King Magazine or whatever with broke dudes just looking.

Fact: The market demographic of butt model viewers are dudes who average income is only $48K/year.

Black women love looking at Black women, especially beautiful Black women and out of admiration. These sexy Black women posing as butt models if they actually was spending more time figuring out how to get paper instead of seeing how many dudes follow her on MySpace and Facebook, would have blew up just like these Japanese sistas I mentioned above if they focused on the right audience which was women, not men!

Now You Understand Why We Mentioned Keyshia..

Keyshia was one of those butt models from the last decade appearing in those magazines and all over the web. But Keyshia clearly separated herself from the pack because she appeared to figured out what the other butt models did not and realize who she should be marketing her beauty to. She released a lipstick line called KA’OIR for sistas to wear.

See, Keyshia is obviously someone who is smart and exceptional and on the right trajectory. I noticed in one of her YouTube videos, she was wearing a clothing brand that comes from Japan and wondered if she already studied what I’m telling yall sistas about how to really go about it. Now the only thing I have a problem with how Keyshia going about it is she need to be quiet and just be a model and sell the product. Those videos on YouTube where she talking and talking in all that English language need to disappear and go away because that is counterproductive and get in the way of the real mission. The more she talk in English on her videos, the more she alienate her international consumer base.

Someone in Keyshia camp need to tell her delete all those YouTube videos and shut the f*ck up because selling lipstick is still the groundfloor level and focus on distribution at this point in time to build up the brand. Then I hope they tell her to stop putting herself around Lil Wayne and Rick Ross and focus her image solely on women and leave that video vixen crap behind and transform herself and move forward targeting women. If she need me to tell her, I will because she is in a way a pioneer and may have no one to be real with her about how to proceed forward.

Look, I understand sistas want to talk and preach and explain their struggles but if we entrepreneurs got to be discipline and realize it is about the customers at the end of the day. In a global economy and what I’m learning, your customers worldwide may not identify with your local issues and statements and it may distract. Beauty is universal and I just hoping Keyshia figure out to just sell an image like these Japanese sistas doing above and just get to the next level. Her lipstick line is scalable to be sold worldwide and I hope she focus on that trajectory and build her brand up.

Summary

The biggest thing I wanted sistas to realize is they should stop marketing Black, female and sexy to these cornball horny dudes and instead sell the sexy brand to the women. The moral of the story here is you want to market beauty to those that want to be like you, not those that want to screw you. Eyeliners, false lashes, lipstick, makeup with your face on it is obvious a recipe for fast track success. I really hope you sistas, especially you butt models realize the money ain’t in men, the money is selling who you are as a beautiful Black women to other women.

For example, yall sistas love Beyonce but I ain’t never see a real brotha nutty about her. Yall sistas are the ones who supporting that sista and some of yall sistas are her biggest stans, not any guy I know of. You sistas are the biggest consumers of your own species and I don’t understand why you trying to sell anything to broke and horny brothas who spend too much time on the Internet and can’t get a real girlfriend in real life.

I’m trying to tell you sistas to stop all this butt modeling posing for these cornball web sites and focus on showing your curves in magazines that feature sistas by sistas for sistas. Show sistas how they can be as beautiful as you and sell some white label Alibaba.com China makeup with your face on it to build your brand and be a recognizable face to become an actor or whatever later in your career.

This is where the butt models screwed up big time during that King Magazine era, focusing on broke dudes who ain’t going to pay for anything. A lot of those butt model sistas are out of the game and straight stagnant and a few weeks ago, one of them (won’t name her) gave me a full booty lap dance for $10, real talk. Those butt models are busted and I hope you sistas in this decade learn from that and realize the money ain’t selling sexy to dudes but to other sistas.

Women all over the world from Latin America to Asia want to look like Black women and yall sistas instead of selling your own beauty globally and making mad money and stacks, yall sistas is posting up these ignorant amateur butt model photos up on social networks just to get some Black dude to say something perverted and he won’t pay you a dime. No, do it like Keyshia and I can tell you that Keyshia will be going serious places in a few years if she stay on the path she smart enough to take already, bet on it.

A permanent food truck park opened up here in Atlanta and was considered a roaring success. I wrote about this business model in 2011 and as you see, we pretty much are now going to talk about how someone else did what no one reading Dream and Hustle bother to do for our hoods. So we going to try this again in 2012 and will help brothas and sistas setup a crowdfunding strategy on Kickstarter to help them get this up and running in the hood.

You can find the original article I wrote about this food truck park model at the following address:

http://016f182.netsolhost.com/dhblog/2011/02/18/thoughts-on-creating-a-privately-owned-food-truck-park/

Case Study: Atlanta Food Truck Park and Market

Off 75 Expressway and Howell Mill Road in Atlanta a permanent food truck park was setup called Atlanta Food Truck Park and Market. I’ll let the media coverage speak for itself.

Atlanta Food Truck Park Opens: MyFoxATLANTA.com

To say that Thursday night’s grand opening of the Atlanta Food Truck Park & Market was a success would be a gross understatement.

Howard Hsu, co-owner of the park that is set up on a three-acre tract on Howell Mill Road at I-75, said he was expecting some 600 to 700 people to show up to sample the culinary offerings of about 15 food trucks.

Instead, the opening night drew a crowd of more than 3,000 – so many people that the trucks all sold out of food earlier than expected and were delayed in getting back to the site in time to reopen at 11 a.m. on Friday.

One truck – Nana G’s Chick-n-Waffles – was so popular that they were turning people away by 7 p.m., just two hours after the park opened Thursday night.

“It was extremely successful for everyone involved,” Hsu said. “A lot of people were parking almost a mile away; that’s a good problem to have.”

Just before 11:30 a.m. Friday, Hsu told the AJC that he had already had to turn away several dozen people because none of the trucks had arrived to begin serving lunch.

No one can argue that the food truck park model will not work. If anything, it appears to always be an instant success and continue to do good in all of the food truck park models I’ve seen. The inner city Black community have plenty of empty lots that can be converted into a food truck park. The inner city Black community has high density population that would keep these food truck parks crowded and profitable. It does not take a college degree or a rocket scientist to establish and maintain a food truck park in the hood.

Swagger Jacking Their Food Truck Park Business Model

Doing some research, you can learn how they were able to pull off this successful weekend. First, they had a ScoutMob deal (similar to Groupon) that help spread the word to deal seekers who probably spread word of mouth. Second, they had a lot of buzz in the media as food trucks are the new media darling stories. So these two things you need to keep in mind this is how you going to blow up your food truck park.

The thing about a food truck park is they are really a nice festive atmosphere that can be done on a daily basis, similar to the Taste of Chicago. People like to eat and hang out and be in clusters. Then you give them a place to have a seat and chillout and now you are straight in business. In the Black community in the hood, you can do a block party type ish setting where you blasting Frankie Beverly and Maze or some old school Luther when he was with the group Change:

Cats out eating at food trucks, the girls all walking around turning heads and the young brothas trying to look good and it’s another good day in the hood because you got a food truck park we can all hang out at and support food truck entrepreneurs and be a real Black community once again like it’s 1973 North Philly.

How to Go About it on Kick Starter

Thanks to crowdsourcing, many of you brothas and sistas ain’t thinking and don’t realize it probably would be a pretty straightforward task to crowdfund the financing for a food truck park in the hood. You sitting up there wanting to get a job and ish and don’t realize you charge a food truck $100/day and you get 10 trucks and that’s $1,000 a day and $365,000/year off an empty ass lot in the hood that had nothing but crack pipes and garbage laying around before you did something about it.

Think about the proposition you bringing to the table – you are going to have local cats in the community, not these bigot unions lay down the asphalt, build the tables and sitting benches and create flower beds, fountains to beautify the empty lot into a park like setting for Food Trucks to park at and serve the people. If you want to go another step, you can setup a space for vending cats and get more cats in the hood be entrepreneurs on your food truck and vending lot.

Then think about the other social good you can bring to the table. If the inner city community was a food desert, someone can create a food truck that offer fresh fruits and vegetables to sell to the local community to take home. No more kids getting hit by an ice cream truck when they can walk to your food truck park and enjoy ice cream there. Cats can have supervised visits with their kids at your food truck park and local politicians can come around and kiss these supervised kids on the cheek for photo ops, pass out political flyers claiming they helped you get this food truck park and demand a $5,000 contribution from you.

That is the kind of stuff that the investors on KickStarter and other crowdfunding sites want to see is the social responsibility aspect of it. And this food truck park transforming a bleated empty lot into a bustling ground floor hustle for hood entrepreneurs is about as social responsible as a cat can get. So now you got to put a presentation together and sell the food truck park hustle and let’s discuss the details:

Video Propaganda. You want to make a video propaganda film for KickStarter that show you standing on an empty lot and show videos of used needles, crack pipes and used condoms – pick up the used condom off the ground and stick it in the camera to show the audience how bad this empty lot is. Then sell your dream of you wanting to turn this lot into a food truck park and sell all that social responsibility sh*t about empowering entrepreneurs, giving the community a place to enjoy themselves and reinvest the money back into the hood.

Visual Diagram. You going to need a visual of how you imagine the food truck park will look like for the investors but for yourself to see. The image above is the type of image you need to create and have on Kickstarter so investors can visualize themselves what you are thinking. You can use Google Sketchup or Open Source Blender to create these kinds of diagrams but this takes real skills and practice. You may want to pay some cat in Turkey or India to create this diagram on the cheap for you over the Internet.

The Revenue Model. Explain you will make money by renting out space to food trucks and vendors and also you will charge to do a ticketing or a prepaid system similar to how they do at the carnival. This is where you stand in a line and buy tickets and you spend the tickets at the food truck. This is an extremely important part you need to do because food trucks should be just serving food, not counting change or collecting dirty money. Do it like they do at the Taste of Chicago and have a ticket system and pay the food trucks the cash when they redeem the tickets at the end of the day. In a big city like the South Side of Chicago, you are realistically looking at $500,000 to a million/year revenue on a good empty lot.

Marketing and Promotion. You tell them that you will offer deals on Groupon to get an initial crowd and explain that crowds attract more crowds. Explain the funding will be used to invite the media by giving them vouchers to try out the food trucks and experience the park and cover it on the news. But you know the hood and the community is going to show up strong at your spot the same way our ghetto ass show up at these fake Freaknic styled picnics ran by some ghetto promoter at the last minute.

Return on Investment. Investors on Kickstarters cannot buy shares in your hustle but what you can do is give them something in return as gratitude for their investment. The first thing you better think of is do it like Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta and just put their name on a brick that will be on the grounds of your food truck park acknowledging them as a crowdsourced investor. The second thing you can offer them is free vouchers to spend as they please for being an early investor. Yeah, I bet you realizing by now this is probably a hot hood hustle that don’t take much to get going and raise money on, huh?

Summary

You really should now come to the conclusion that setting up a food truck park in the high density inner city hood is probably not a bad idea and not something that will not fail either. Probably can have this setup in the hood by the 4th of July if you want to keep it real. Dream and Hustle was talking about food trucks as economic empowerment models for the hood for a few years. In fact, I even wrote a fictional story about two sistas and one of them open a food truck and you may not know this, but some sistas around the country actually started their own food truck operation after reading that story.

When I see food trucks in the news, all I see is long lines of people and hearing about these food trucks running out of food and being sold out due to the popularity. Only a dumb fool would doubt this hustle, would not swagger jack what already works and would not run to kickstarter and get cats to crowdsource $17,000 to get an empty lot in the hood to see revenues of $500K/year. The social responsibility is there, the empowerment model is there and also the ability to better the quality of life for cats in the hood is there.

And I will leave it at this – you should already know I will put in money on your Kickstarter proposal if your ass did this proposition right like I told you to. Just put Dream and Hustle on one of those bricks and send a brotha some vouchers to get his grub on and look at the fine hood sistas all lined up to eat at the shredded BBQ chicken truck at your food truck park.
