You best believe when I was in Tokyo, I’m going to talk to people and make connects. When I was planning this trip, I got in touch with plenty of people off Facebook and other resources who I can meet when I touchdown in Tokyo. I have to get a quick shout out to all of the people I communicated with via Black Tokyo and on Facebook who looked out for a brotha and I will do that in a separate blog posting when I wrap this episode up. One of the people I got to meet was a local entrepreneur in Tokyo and fellow techie Terri MacMillan who runs Modern Media Japan.

Terri invited me to a Tokyo Hacker Space event that happens regularly over there and they were working on circuitry at the time. Please check out the video below because I met some of the people in the Hacker Space video and they welcomed me to their house to conduct this interview with Terri.

I have to give them a shout-out for listening to me blab on and on about Fooky, Inc. and the fact we will be releasing Fooky.com in Japan early next year and establishing an office there, something I haven’t mentioned yet. But anyway, I told Terri I wanted to get her on video talking to you all reading this blog about her living and doing business in Japan as an entrepreneur for about 10 minutes. Well, we talked for a very long time and the video had to be broken up in 3 parts for you guys to watch. So here is the interview presented below in three parts.

All I’m going to say is Terri was very amazing and inspirational to me and I hope what she says also inspires you because she doing it for real. I also mentioned another guy named Henry Seals who runs a First-Friday event for Black tech entrepreneurs. I didn’t get a chance to meet Mr. Seals because a typhoon hit Japan the day we supposed to have met and didn’t catch up since. However, I’m going back to Tokyo in a few months and plan to attend one of his First Friday events – yall are welcome to come if you want. People like Henry and Terri are the type of cats who are roles models and pioneers and the kind of people we don’t read about here in America but should.

Again, if you just skimming through text and haven’t seen the videos, I really would encourage you to check out the videos because what Terri had to say was absolutely amazing.
